Our practice originated in 1938. In this time, right before the Second World War, the Student Health Service was founded, from which this practice emerged. At this time this was for students only. A professor of Histology (the study of tissue) started consultation hours for medical students, also because this was at a time when Tuberculosis was a considerably dangerous disease. These consultation hours were expanded so that all students were welcome. This Student Health Service functioned as a consultation practice. All students had a place they could talk about their health questions. From long disease like Tuberculosis to birth control and of course other issues of ‘below the belt’.
